Our History

Managed Sentinel was founded by Marius and Adrian in Toronto, Canada in 2019. Friends for more than two decades, they were some of the first security practitioners to recognize the potential of Microsoft’s new SIEM tool named Azure Sentinel. They began creating detailed architectural diagrams about how to deploy and optimize the tool and posting them online. As interest in Azure Sentinel grew across the security industry, companies of all sizes started to reach out to the Managed Sentinel team for help with understanding this new tool as well as the rapidly emerging Microsoft security tool portfolio. Dorian joined in 2020 to build a strategic software platform to allow the company to scale with the growing list of clients and increasing delivery complexity. Before too long, Managed Sentinel became the recognized leader around the globe when it came to consulting and implementation in this emerging new technology space. BlueVoyant had partnered with Managed Sentinel on a number of opportunities and, seeing the incredible value it was bringing to customers, decided to acquire it in mid-2020 to complement its own portfolio of platform and MDR services built around the Microsoft security tool portfolio.
